Who are the Gumptioneers?
The Gumptioneers are a group of summer interns who are effectively a small, independent advertising agency with no agenda other than ensuring that Montgomery thrives. We’re connected to an extensive network of influential business, community, and creative leaders, and providing our services to them--getting ideas off the ground that simply couldn't happen otherwise.
We bypass the labyrinth of bureaucracy that often comes from big organizations and larger staffs; instead, we have the luxury of being more agile than a typical advertising agency, and can leverage it to our advantage by coordinating more easily and making decisions faster. Our plans can evolve more fluidly, and the pivots of planning merely bring us closer to our goal, rather than grind the work to a halt. Our group is uniquely positioned to mobilize quickly and respond just as swiftly.
We don't charge any of our "clients," we instead maintain a curated list of efforts that we'll focus on, complete, and then refresh with new causes all throughout the summer. And without a purely commercial incentive, we can work singularly on our only objective: which is to be a serious force for positive growth in Montgomery. This is made easier by being housed in the very heart of downtown—the Ampersand building being mere minutes away from some of the most influential businesses and organizations in the city.
